Services Offered
Below is a list of services I can offer as a private practitioner. This list is not exhaustive, but shows the wide range of support and input I can offer on a range of issues which impact children and young people.
I offer a free telephone screening assessment to understand your child’s situation, strengths and areas of concern. We can then work together to determine if OT is right for your child, and what further assessment, treatment and support may be required. There is no obligation to take up the service following a screening assessment.
+Fine Motor Skills, such as handwriting, dressing and washing skills.
+Gross Motor Skills, for example: playing sports, body awareness, balance movement and strength.
+Daily Living Skills, which considers the interplay between functional performance, and cognitive ability.
+Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) assessments and reports. Some children may require additional support from their local authority within their school setting. An EHCP assessment and report from an OT can support the application to unlock additional funding to support their school journey.
+Organisational Skills, including body and environment.
+Special Educational Needs (SEN).
+Developmental Concerns.
+Visual Perception, exploring and understanding how the child's body can understand and interact with their physical space.
+Assessing the Home/School Environment and identifying specialist/none-specialist equipment to adapt the space to support physical or sensory needs.
+Developing recommendations and signposting to services which can meet specific needs as and when these fall outside of the Telos' scope of practice.
+Guide and Educate Parents, Carers and Educators on specific functional needs of a child and provide training on understanding and meeting individual children needs.
+Training on specific techniques, methods and treatment approaches to parents/cares, educator and other organisations.
I also offer stand-alone assessments and reports without the expectation to take up any follow-up treatment. This option can be used if parents/carers require a second opinion, or if evidence is needed towards EHCPs, tribunals or others matters requiring formal clinical observations, assessment and reporting.
